Causes
& Nature Cure of Obesity Obesity
is supposed to be a gift of modern life style. Obesity itself is a disease as
well as breeding ground of numerous oilier diseases. It's main symptoms are following:
- Obese, clumsy and unsymmetrical body (imbalance between height
and weight)
- Panting with little physical work
- Excessive
sweating
- Bodyache
- Increased dizziness
and lack of enthusiasm
- Excessive sleep
Causes:
Obesity is a disease of the persons who avoid physical work or exercise. Heavy
diet, constant use of high fat foods, avoidance of physical exercises or manual
work and leading lethargic and comfortable life style etc. may be the main cause
of Obesity. Some patients may be obese due to the irregular secretion of Thyroid
gland or hereditary causes. Treatment:
First of all, the patient of Obesity should keep on fast for three days.
During fast water mixed with lemon juice may be taken 3 to 4 times in a day. Daily
cleansing the bowel with lemon water enema is also beneficial. After three days
fast he may restrict his diet to one time Dalia and one time fruits, boiled vegetable
for a week. After that, he may gradually come to the diet of whole wheat bread
and green vegetables. This process may be followed for fifteen days.
The diet of obese patients must
be of low calory. Such patients are advised to adopt the life style full of physical
work and exercises. The regular practice of Hip bath alongwith
the Mud pack, lemon water enema and Steam bath once or twice a week seem to be
specially effective in reducing weight. Brisk walk is necessary for obesity patients.
Light running or jogging may also be done. Swimming is also helpful in reducing
the weight. Abstaining of sweets and heavy food items like Halwa, Jalebi, Puri,
Pakoda, Samosa, Ice cream, Coca Cola etc. is most essential for getting rid of
obesity. By increasing the quantity of raw salad and vegetables in meal it can
be made a diet of low caloric value. This is desired for getting rid of obesity.
Practice of taking luke warm water mixed with lemon juice and honey in the morning
is also helpful in reducing weight. Kunjala, Shankha
Prakshalana and Baghi Kriya should be practised once a month for first three months.
Tadasana, Katichakrasana, Pada Hastasana, Sarvangasana, Halasana, Bhujangasana,
Dhanurasana, Pashchimottanasana, Matsyasana, Ardha-Matsyendrasana and Ushtrasana
should also be practised alongwith Surya Namaskara. Surya Bhedi and Bhastrika
Pranayama and Agnisara Kriya also cause very good effect. The practice ofUdara
Shakti and Kati Shakti Vikasaka exercises of Sukshama Vyayama and Sarvanga Pushti
and Engine Race of Sthula Vyayama are also highly efficacious. |
